Not exactly sure what happened to the weekend.
Not exactly sure what happened during the weekend.
Not exactly sure who I was with for a good part of the weekend.
Found someone's cell phone in my jacket pocket, perhaps that will clue me in a little.

I was, ahem, suddenly talked into having another cup of coffee this morning before I head out on a quick run around the Rose Bowl. I'm easy that way.

Woah go me!

At least six miles, more like seven this morning as I ran down Lake St., around the Rose Bowl and through the neighborhoods around the Arroyo. You couldn't stop me this morning.

I think I'll celebrate, of sorts, over a coffee at Rose's by the Pasadena Playhouse.

Just skinny dipped in the pool down the street .... thank god the neighbors took their dog with them this week cos we'd have a lot of explaining to come up with if we were to get caught. Our clothes are two houses up the street.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that I swam two miles today at the Aquatic Center. I hit a point of no return, so to speak, and I could have swam laps 'til the cows came home.

I want to do that more often - wake up, toss on some swim shorts and a t-shirt, hop on my beat up ol' bike and jump into the pool there in the Arroyo.

Take a look at the clock, it's only 10:40 PM and I'm about to hop into bed. Just did a few laps in the pool which felt great after a full day at the office, and tomorrow's gonna be a fuckfest of meetings and organizational nonsense. We have some new members of our logistics team, and I've been the one "chosen" to bring them up to speed.

Had lunch at the Ritz on Oak Knoll, man I love that place. If I had a hundred million dollars I'm probably buy the place and live in it.

The Rose Bowl almost kicked my ass this morning, it's already so hot out. I just can't seem to get in good runs when the temperature is so high in the mornings.

Maybe I should start swimming as a switch.

Dear neighbor,
Don't you think it's a little early to be pounding nails into something? I mean it's seven o'fucking clock in the morning on a Saturday, don't you think that's just a little rude?
Permission to pound a couple of finishing nails into your lower skull please?

your neighbor, Jasper

The seesaw of my Jennifer/Sara dynamic never fails to entertain me. I love those two girls, each on their completely different approaches to life. There couldn't be two different women in my life I tell you.

Lazy lazy day today, I want to take pictures but I don't know of what. Perhaps a cure to my lack of energy might lie in a quick little hike up Mt. Lowell.

This day in History: 1925 - John T. Scopes, a biology teacher in Dayton, TN, was arrested for teaching Darwin's theory of evolution.

Unfortunately we haven't progressed much since then.

There were more than the usual homeless along Brand Blvd. in Glendale this morning, but thanks to about ten dollars burning a hole in my pocket there are now two less who are in need of coffee.

Shit, I hurt my ankle the other day, haven't been able to run for almost a week. Shit shit shit.

Finally got around to posting some of the images from the hike I took a few days back. Better late than never I suppose, right? Right?

Well it was such a nice day, I couldn't stand to be cooped up indoors anymore. So I hightailed it out to the trail head near the Cobb Estate on Lake St., and well once I started climbing I couldn't bear to stop. So here's a few images of the trail I explored up and down.

The first few miles are pretty tame and so lovely after the rains we just had.

Some of the switchbacks approach, of course I always took the hardest and highest route. Go me!

This parasitic plant was everywhere, I liked the color of it against the green plants below.

Just about at the top of the biggest hill, the end is near, the end is near .....

Yes that was a good run through Pasadena this morning. I need to get into the car and measure exactly how far I ran, but I'm betting it was somewhere around 6-7 miles.

Go me!

I've been gone from LJ for almost two weeks, but now I'm back.
I have so much to catch up with, I'll read each and every one of my friend's entries until I'm all caught up.

I'm so tired this morning, I don't know what's sapped my energy levels these past few days. Maybe a run around the Rose Bowl will reenergize me.

The pressure cooker what is Los Angeles is getting to me this week.

If you don't hear from me, it's 'cos I'll be down at that little place below Rosarito Beach, might stay over the weekend, maybe I'll stay a little longer.

Despite the economy, Goodyear's been kind to me. Seems aircraft owners still buy tires, people still want to land safe on their wet and icy runways. I'm forever grateful for Lisa and that crazy night where I came up with the idea in the most inopportune time.
